Method of extraction:
The essential oil is steam-distilled from the flowering herb.
Properties:
general strengthening and stimulating (brain, nerves, heart, kidneys, liver, pancreas, stomach, intestines); germicide for infections, bacteria, viruses, fungi, and worms; anti-inflammatory, promotes digestion, blood purifier; stops breast-milk production, regulates ovaries and promotes menstruation. Indications: asthenia, vegetative dystonia, neuritis, headache, low blood pressure; aerophagy, stomach-intestine and liver-pancreas atony, colitis, kidney colitis; bladder inflammation, prostate inflammation, vaginitis, leucorrhea; shingles, viral neuritis, yellow fever; sciatica, facial and dental neuralgia; nervous palpitations, dizziness, motion sickness, itchy irritation, skin parasites, intestinal worms.
Main components:
menthol, menthone, menthyl acetate, 1-8-cineole, dimethyl sulfide.
Contraindications, side effects:
avoid use by pregnant women and small children under three years old. Use externally, except for local application, because of it's icy cold properties of the menthols.
Usage and doses:
For Baths: 9-10 drops add to glass of yogurt or milk and pour in to bath.
Massage: add -6-7 drops of essential oil to 20g ml of basic oil.
Inhalations: 2-4 drops to 1l of hot water.
Vaporizers: 1-2 drops for 5 m2 of room.
